I listened to Sabrina Orah Mark's Happily first, and then had to buy a hard copy to more fully immerse myself in the words on the page. The writing drew me in, making me feel like I'd stepped through an invisible door into a different version of our world, where fairy tales and "real" life weave together into a gorgeous tapestry of magic, mystery, and the mundane. I was both unsettled and comforted. I cannot wait to read it again.

That would have been wonderful: I do love how podcasts offer us this magical return to the experience of being read to (well, if we have had the pleasure of being read to in the past). Like you, I was so thrilled to discover Orah Mark's work, which is such a thrilling extension of the tradition of women engaging with fairy tales to interpret, understand, and story (make meaning!) of our lives.

The book is a delight! I have the hardcover, with its glorious wrapper illustration by Amy Cutler--an artist whose work has so much of that queer sense of normalised magic familiar from fairy tales. Enjoy re-indulging!
